GetGas Terms of Service

Welcome to GetGas. By using our app and website ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.

1. About GetGas

GetGas is a fuel price comparison platform that helps users find gas stations and compare fuel prices in the Philippines and the United States. The Service is provided by GetGas.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using GetGas, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users regardless of their location.

3. User Accounts

A free account is required to use GetGas. You may sign in using email or Google authentication. By creating an account, you agree to provide accurate information. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. GetGas is not liable for any loss arising from unauthorized use of your account.

4. User-Submitted Content

GetGas allows users to submit fuel price reports. By submitting content, you:

Confirm that the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge
Grant GetGas a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute the submitted content
Agree not to submit false, misleading, or malicious information
Understand that submissions may be reviewed and approved or rejected at our discretion

5. GP Points and Badges

GetGas awards GP Points and badges for user contributions such as price reports, daily streaks, and milestones. Points and badges have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for cash or any other consideration, and are provided solely for engagement purposes. GetGas reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the points and badge system at any time without notice.

6. Fuel Price Data

Fuel prices displayed on GetGas are estimates sourced from multiple data pipelines:

Philippines: Department of Energy (DOE) weekly price bulletins, direct brand API feeds (Shell, Petron, Caltex, Phoenix, SeaOil, and others), and community-submitted photo reports.
United States: Brand API partnerships (Chevron, ExxonMobil, Shell, BP, and others) and community crowdsourcing.

Actual pump prices may vary. GetGas does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any price information. Always verify prices at the pump before fueling.

7. Location Services

GetGas uses your device's location to find nearby gas stations. Location data is processed in real-time and is not stored on our servers. You may disable location services at any time through your device settings, though this may limit the functionality of the Service.

8. Third-Party Services

GetGas integrates with third-party services including:

Google Maps / Places API — for map display and station data
Google Authentication — for user sign-in
Supabase — for data storage and authentication
Netlify — for website hosting

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

9. Intellectual Property

The GetGas name, logo, design, and original content are the property of GetGas. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our branding or code without written permission. Gas station brand names and logos belong to their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only.

10. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

Submit false or misleading price information
Attempt to manipulate the GP Points or badge system
Use automated tools to scrape or access the Service
Interfere with the operation of the Service
Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation

11. Disclaimer for US Users

GetGas is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with any US federal or state agency. Fuel price data for US stations is provided for informational purposes only and is not regulated by any government body. Prices may not reflect taxes, regional surcharges, or promotional rates.

12. Limitation of Liability

GetGas is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, GetGas shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to damages resulting from reliance on fuel price information. This applies equally to users in the Philippines and the United States.

13. Modifications

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify users of significant changes through the app or website.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law in the jurisdiction where the user resides. Users in the Philippines agree that disputes shall be subject to Philippine law. Users in the United States agree that disputes shall be subject to the laws of the state in which they reside, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any unresolved disputes shall be settled through binding arbitration or the appropriate courts of competent jurisdiction.
